"Tore was woeful in the first half ,but improved in the 2nd half. His corners were good"

Most of his chances he created was in the first half?

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread
Burke and Byram looked the best but had to do to much as for once Antonio wasn't covering in his usual way,Tore was poor in helping out Byram.
Antonio could of actually had a hat-trick.
Obiang didn't do enough pressing, wasteful in possession.
Noble reluctant to push up and free kicks were poor .
Carroll didn't need to come on.we would of learnt more from Fletcher having 30 minutes
Glad Payet didn't play on that pitch.
Calleri needed the minutes.
Tore was woeful in the first half ,but improved in the 2nd half. His corners were good

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread FT 1-1
I'm confused. Notwithstanding the fact we returned from the USA tour over a month ago, did it leave us knackered or was it not intense enough?

Also, if chelsea finished their USA tour on Aug 4, why didn't they suffer the same problems?

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread
Don't worry. It was all a con. That was just a re-screening of last years shite performance against Astra with their second goal edited out.

Shame on you BT Sport.

Tex

The Seattle game. A ten hour flight to Vancouver, and a four hour train ride to Seattle. If anyone should be fucked, it's me.

Simon...

That Railhawks game was for hat...???

Second or 3rd level US team...haha

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread
Well said Texas.
And yeh, let's hope BIlic gives Fletcher a go.
He looks useful.

What I've seen of Samuelson, he flatters to deceive.

And of course, Antonio on the right wing going at people.

We'll get back on track Sunday against the thunderbird puppet and co.

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread FT 1-1
I can understand that we didn't really want to over-exert ourselves tonight but with a little more professionalism and determination; we could've won as much as 3-0 tonight.

I'm confident that the massive difference in class will be very evident come next Thursday.

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread FT 1-1
Beginning of any season I refuse to judge.
Last season prime example.
Lost our first two homes but won at Afc and Man City.
Its notoriously difficult to gauge a side so early.
But I will say a lot of work is required of ours to come up to standard required.

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread
I only watched 5 mins of it and the thing I noticed the most was how diabolical the pitch was.

Would have smashed them with some big Sam tactics.

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread
The amount of times our defence HOOFED the ball out for either a throw in or worse a corner was shocking.

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread FT 1-1
I thought that we were a bit too casual and complacent in the second-half tonight. Can't really have too many complaints.

Still, with a slightly stronger team in the second leg; we should be able to do more than enough to qualify for the Group Stage.

We shouldn't take too much of a risk though and make sure that we have a decent side out next Thursday.

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread
I'm not sure pre season counts for too much, although I agree the US tour was a bit pointless (and I was there!) It was a money spinner, but with hindsight, some intensive training and some games more local to home would have been better preparation.

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread
We spend all season trying to get into a competition we don't want to be in ? Why ?

Because we're to scared to injure our players and face a relegation battle !

Pointless ffs

Is it me, or our youngsters look like this is the norm at West Ham, and they take the EL as a norm ?

We were gifted a place last year, and if we'd had 1 more Premier League game last year, doubt if we'd been in it now...

We've only ever played 2 UEFA cup "real" games vs Osiek and Stauer Bucharest ! After getting in the back doorvia the intertoto bollocks (although Metz away was one of my favorite away games attended ever)

Palermo knocked us out before the group stages in 2006..

We're hardly in Europe every fucking year !

There youngsters are running and giving everything

Ours seem overpaid, less talented wannabes who are not being given the REAL chance to go out and do something? It's like they've been told to do the bare minimum to win..

Not guts, no fight....

This poxy PL bollocks has killed the fecking game

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread
Tore did get past his man a couple of times and put good crosses into the box but only when one on one out on the wing.

When he collected the ball on the half way line and cut inside he kept running into trouble by taking on too many players and losing the ball.

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread
I think it was a pity Browne didn't go on his own and put that chance away.In itself it would of given him and the whole team a huge lift. He took the easy option, the pitch probably had something to do with his decision and his ball was too far forward for Antonio.Still I thought Antonio would score. Had it gone in I think we would of added another, pity as now we have to put out our best XI a week today with Man City coming quickly after.

Re: ⚽ Astra Giurgui v West Ham - The Official Match Thread
I'm not even sure it IS a goalscorer we are missing . Look very disjointed all over the pitch .
